English language challenges

Hi everyone! Today I going to talk about the English Language Program and you must put attention because this is my last blog. Well, I hope… If this isn’t my last blog is because I failed the curse.

I think that English IV was a great curse. First, we had a very good teacher with much patience, very likeable. Beside, my classmates were supportive, they always help me when I don’t know a word or I don’t understand an instruction.

The blog are very useful because in that part of the class was when I learned more. Sometimes I hated the blogs because in each class were more words. I never finished. I think that I need improved a lot aspects of my English. For example, I must pronounce better, I must read more texts in English for increase my vocabulary and, mainly, I must lose fear at English.

Outside of the class, I use very little English. In fact, I don’t understand the lyrics of the songs in English or when I play some games I don’t understand of the instructions. I follow a lot account in Instagram of USA and, for understand, I must translate your publications.

In any case, I know that learn English is thing very important, above all in journalism because I’ll have to interview people who only speak English. For this, I hope learn English in the future… I hope a near future haha

Well, this is the end of everything. Thank you teacher for your patience and for you teaching. See you classmates, and good luck in the final test!

Changes to my study programme

Hello everyone! Today I am going to talk about the changes that I would make to my degree. Before starting, I want to tell you that this is the second to last blog that I will do. This is sad for you, but good for me hehe Nothing personal, teacher… It’s hard for me English.

Well, about my degree (Journalism, if you didn’t know) I’ll change the curriculum because I think there are subjects that are not necessary for a journalist and, on the contrary, there are subjects that we need and are not included in our degree.

Besides, I believe that compulsory attendance should be reduced to only 50% of the course, because our career demands a lot of time outside class, for the interviews, recordings, taking photograph, etc. Despite that, I think journalism is an affordable career if you know how to program all things well... I'm not the one to give that advice haha

I like the infrastructure of the Institute of Communication and Images (ICEI), but I think that the thing always can be better. Maybe, a little bit of paint for the walls. From a distance it looks colorful, but up close it's a bit bleak.

About the technology, I think that we need better WiFi and more implements, like camera, video recorder and computers.

Thanks you for read me. See you!

Summer vacation

Hi everyone!

Today, I’m going to talk about my summer vacation plans. Well, in January and February I’ll be doing my practice, then I won’t have very time for enjoy. But, maybe for one or two weeks, I’ll go to south of Chile. I’ll visit at region’s Puerto Montt; the same city, Puerto Varas, Frutillar… well, all Lake Llanquihue.

I knew this zone of Chile, this is very beautiful. But, for this, the next vacation I would like to visit the north of Chile. I have traveled until La Serena, but this isn’t very at the north, I prefer to know Copiapó, Antofagasta, Iquique or Arica. I already said it before, in another blog: I collect key chain from Chilean regional capitals. For this I like visit these cities.

If I would can go to north of Chile, I would like travel with my girlfriend because we always had a good time. The problem is that she always likes to take pictures in new places, and I hate the photographs. That embarrasses me.

In northern Chile, I would like to explore the most famous valleys. I would like to know the desert, the volcanoes, the beaches ... I would like to see all those beautiful places that our country has. I think that trip would be very exhausting, but I know that everything would be worth it.

Well, these would be great holidays. Thank you for read me, see you the next week!

Juan Carlos Bodoque!

Hi! Today I am going to talk about my favorite character. Who is? Juan Carlos Bodoque!

Juan Carlos Bodoque is a red rabbit, and he works in “31 minutos”, a news program but of puppets. He studied in the University of Titrilquen, and he graduated as Journalist and Communicator. The Journalist is presenter of the section “La noa verde”. In this part of “31 minutos”, Bodoque explains an article he made by himself.

Generally, Bodoque’s articles are about denunciation and environment: protect the environment, for example. But, lamentably, this rabbit is a compulsive gambler; in fact, he spends time betting in the racecourse. And on more than one occasion your addiction to gambling has brought problems to him.

Juan Carlos is serious and grumpy, but in the bottom he is a very adorable rabbit. About his family, Bodoque dont talk frecuently, but is known that he has 68 brothers. Well… they are rabbits. In the news program all are Friends, but the best friend of Bodoque is Tulio Triviño, the presenter of “31 minutos”.

Juan Carlos Bodoque is more than a celebrity in the world of the televisión, he is a real journalist, because with his section “La nota verde” he has informed to all public, kids and adults too. I have to confess that before of this blog, I don’t know so many things about Juan Carlos Bodoque. I think that I admire him more now.

Thanks for your attention!

Postgraduate Studies

Hi everyone!

In this occasion, I‘m going to talk about the postgrad. In the future, I would like do a postgrad about Investigative Journalism because this form I could be better in the job. Precisely, this semester I am in the subject Investigative Journalism, but in undergrad.

The teacher of this course is María Olivia Mönckeberg, she’s the best in your area. She’s like the queen of the journalism, at least in Chile. She has won the National Journalism Award in Chile, and every time she publishes a book, it causes a lot of controversy. Always research on issues that go against power: corruption, politics, education and business.

I would like to study in the abroad, but I think that I wouldn’t understand. For this, I believe that I would do the postgrad of Investigative Journalism in Chile. Besides, I think that the best form for learn thing is face to face. Maybe, I would do the course at night and in the day I would work.

The bad thing is that studying in Chile is very expensive. I guess doing a graduate degree should be a lot more expensive than a normal career. For this, if I could study the postgrad, I would like have a scholarship. While more cheap better hehe.

Well, is all for today. See you the next week, thanks you for read me!

My future job

Hello everyone!

Today I am going to talk about my future job. I like sports since I was a kid, and especially I'm a fan of soccer. I am study journalism and for this I would like to be a sports journalist. I imagine that I could be in big sporting events and learn a lot about sports and sportsmen.

I do not think it's hard to find this work but in Chile the sports journalism is very despised, but I would still like to work on that.

Of course, this work would be outdoors because most sports are practiced outdoors. In my work I would like to inform about world soccer cup or the Champions league and for that I would have to travel to other countries of the world and I would love that. I could know many places and buy keyrings for my collection.

About the salary, I hope it helps me live and pay the work`s travel but the truth is that I love soccer and to be able to inform a match of the Chilean selection of soccer would be my best salary.

I do not know if I'm going to dedicate to this, but I think this job that would make me happy. Thanks for your attention, see you!

Jimmy's hall

Hi everyone! I hope you all are very fine.

Today I am going to talk about the film “Jimmy`s hall” directed by Ken Loach. the movie tells the story of Jimmy, an Irish that is persecuted by the police because promote the freedom of the people.

I don´t like the movie because it is slow and sometimes boring. The story of movie was entertaining but there were no great climax moments. Or maybe because I've seen other movies where the same theme is on, and this movie did not look any better than the others.

Anyway, I have a favorite character and is the Jimmy`s mother, Alice. She is funny and tender. I think Alice reminds me of my mother, although, of course, my mother is younger and more fun.

My favorite scene is an Alice’s. It was fun when she pretended to lose the key to help Jimmy. Undoubtedly, the love of a mother leads you to do crazy things, and she managed to improvise in that situation only to save her son.

One thing that I liked about the film was it was the landscapes, the places were very beautiful and I did not like that sometimes the movie was very slow and boring. Despite this, I will tell my mother to watch the movie to see if she likes Alice. Thanks for reading, bye!
